Key Benefits

  • Provides older adults with health screening services.
  • Educates older adults about health issues.

Blood Pressure Screening

Monthly blood pressure checks are provided at many of our activity centers in Clermont County in collaboration with various health care providers.  There is no fee for this service.

Mammography

A mammogram is a special X-ray technique used to create an image of the internal structure of the breast for early detection of breast cancer.

Mammograms are conducted annually at designated activity centers in cooperation with the Mercy Health Partners Breast Screening Program.

Medicare will pay for the screening once every year.  If you do not have Medicare or a supplemental insurance plan that will cover the cost of the screening, you will need to pay for the screening at the time of the service.

Flu Immunization / Pneumonia Vaccine

Flu immunizations and pneumonia vaccines are offered annually, usually in October and November, in cooperation with the Clermont County General Health District.  Dates and sites vary.

The Ohio Department of Health recommends that all persons 65 years of age or older and those who have certain chronic illnesses be immunized against the flu.

Fees are charged for these services.  Both injections are covered by Medicare Part B.  If you are covered by an HMO, you will need to pay at the time of service.

Health Education

Health literature is provided monthly at activity centers and senior housing complexes.

Health education programs are presented regularly at activity centers.  Programs include information on nutrition, exercise, home safety and other senior health issues.

For a monthly calendar of center activities, call 513-724-1255.

Senior Health Fair

Clermont Senior Services sponsors an annual health fair each Fall.  Many vendors participate and offer information relative to older adult lifestyles.

A number of health screenings are offered, such as blood profiles, blood pressure checks, bone density scans, mammograms, etc.  Some are offered for a fee and require an appointment made in advance.

Workshops are offered throughout the day.

Transportation is available for health screening appointments.  Arrangements must be made in advance.
